Riva

Sarnico, Lake Iseo, since 1842; the Aquarama, and everything since.

Riva built wooden runabouts on Lake Iseo for a century before the Aquarama of 1962 made the name a shorthand for Italian glamour. The company has been part of the Ferretti Group since 2000, and the modern range runs from the open Iseo and Rivamare through the Dolceriva and Rivale to composite and steel yachts built at La Spezia and Ancona.

Classic mahogany Rivas and modern composite ones share a name and little else in ownership terms. A listing’s year and model tell you which world you are in.
