Flybridge

An open upper deck with a second helm.

A flybridge is the open deck above the saloon, with its own helm, seating and often a wet bar and a sunpad, and it is the defining feature of the most common motor-yacht layout from 12 metres to 40. It adds a second living space and a high, clear view for handling the boat, at the cost of windage and height.

Whether it is shaded by a hardtop, a bimini or nothing at all is a separate feature and a separate listing entry.
